Finally got around to watching Eastern Promises.
Cronenberg at his best - great acting, great writing, disturbing and riveting.
That naked bath house knife fight is incredible.
Nobody does violence like Cronenberg.
So refreshing to see something like this instead of all those cheesy Hollywood action flicks.
Like sitting down to a big, juicy porterhouse after a steady diet of Big Macs.
And now they're talking about a sequel, with Cronenberg, Viggo and Knight all on board.
Given the ending of the first movie, for once that actually sounds like a pretty good idea.

In honour of Good Friday, we're starting things off with an Easter appropriate selection: CHOCOLATE JESUS by Tom Waits.
Now, it's pretty tough to go wrong with old Tom, but this particular cut off his Mule Variations long-player is a favourite of mine. I've heard both literal and metaphoric interpretations of this little opus, but all I can tell you for sure is that, from the lo-fi production right down to the crowing rooster sound effects, this is one steaming heap of cool.
