May Two-Four. A time of rebirth and renewal.
A time to rejoice in wonder and splendour of nature.
A time to stand around in your underwear drinking beer.
I plan to celebrate by attempting to cook up some authentic North Carolina-style Pulled Pork, complete with Pit Beans and Slaw.
Now, I don't have a real smoker or any real skill to speak of, but I'm pretty sure I can pull this off with my gas grill, a few wood chips and sheer will-power.
It's bound to get ugly. This time tomorrow I expect to be up to my elbows in raw pork and vinegar-based barbeque sauce, fortified with alcohol and all the while trying to ignore the death rattle of the western economy.
