Anyway, once in a while I get a piece from ace photographer Jimmy Williams. He took a series of photos of musicians in the south called Music Makers that is so incredibly good I had to post a link. Check it out, you won't be sorry.
They're all great, but my favourite is a gentleman sporting the excellent handle of "Bishop Dreddy."
He's pictured proudly holding his Strat in front of a white clapboard church in a snappy pink suit and matching two-tone, pink and white shoes. The rest of us can only dream of that kind of Sartorial Perfection.
This is Required Viewing, folks, so get on over their.
Now, logically, I should follow that up with something bluesy, but instead I'm going with a song I've been obsessed with for the last few days. It's by Richard Thompson, who I've always thought of as one of those pastoral English folkies, wearing fuzzy knit caps and singing heartfelt laments to pale, skinny blonde girls. However, it turns out he can rock like a bastard when he wants to and this is a fine example.
It's live from the Jools Holland Show and it's called Cooksferry Queen.
